Social Work England will be the new, specialist regulator for all child, family and adult social workers in England. We will be take over responsibility from the current regulator, the Health Care Professions Council. We a non-departmental public body, operating at arm's length from government.
Our main objective will be to protect the public. We will do this by setting the standards for social workers, ensuring they meet our standings, are fully qualified and remain fit to practise.
We do not expect to begin regulating the profession before spring 2019. As such, we are currently working in readiness to launch this brand new organisation including a recruitment drive, premises and creation of digital services. Based in the heart of Sheffield, we will employ in the region of 120 people when we're fully staffed.
As Executive Director of Finance you will act as a key member of the Social Work England (SWE) Executive Leadership Team. You will lead on the delivery of the financial and commercial strategy for the organisation and support with the development of the organisation's values, culture and overall objectives. This is an important appointment for Social Work England and an opportunity for an individual to join the Executive Leadership team to influence and shape the future of the organisation. You will be a qualified accountant (CCAB) and have relevant prior experience of financial management in either the private or public sector. You will be able to demonstrate considerable experience of senior level management gained ideally within a regulated environment and competent with financial planning and corporate budget management of around £10m - £15m.

The role will be based in beautiful new offices in Sheffield and will ideally be over 3 days a week with a salary offering of around £70,000 - £90,000 fte depending on experience.
