Accounts & Taxation Assistant Manager
Well established growing accountancy practice is seeking to recruit an Accounts & Taxation Assistant Manager to join their friendly team based on the outskirts of High Wycombe, Bucks (Free Parking)
Key elements of the Accounts & Taxation Assistant Manager are:
Manage a portfolio of accounts/other clients and ensure client work is performed in accordance with the firm’s procedures and timescales and that client and statutory filing deadlines are met. This may include support for client book-keeping: preparation or reviews of quarterly VAT returns, management and statutory accounts preparation plus the preparation of personal tax returns.
Manage the firm’s portfolio of corporation tax clients and ensure computations/returns are prepared in accordance with the firm’s procedures and timescales and that HMRC filing deadlines are met.
Train, supervise and develop staff involved in accounts, audit and corporation tax work, review their work and ensure it is performed in accordance with the firm’s procedures and timescales.
Ask for assistance and guidance from the directors/your manager (or others) in the performance of your work in terms of the method and expected time for completion of assignments.
Obtain clearance from the directors before commencement of work in respect of outstanding fee balances. Agree time/fee budgets before commencement of work with the client director and keep generally him/her informed of progress and specifically as soon as the time/fee budget appears unachievable
Perform tasks delegated from the directors/your manager (or others) and keep them informed of any changes or developments concerning the clients for which you are responsible.
Communicate to the directors/your manager (or others) ideas for improving working methods, including the more efficient/extensive use of software, expanding knowledge and expertise.
Keep abreast of developments and up to date technically by reading professional literature, press releases and advising the directors/your manager (or others) of any gaps in knowledge.
Maintain a positive approach and communicate to the directors/your manager (or others) any concerns over work or other related matters which are affecting your own or others. performance
Attend internal or external training courses as required by the firm.
This is a full time position, for a part/qualified, general accounts person leaning towards tax. Experienced in Iris, Xero, other cloud based packages would be desirable and in return you will receive a salary of between £40k-£50k
