Role: Finance Officer

Robert Half are working exclusively with an exciting not for profit organisation that work extremely close with local services in and around Bristol. The Finance Officer position is a key area for the business as they are now venturing into new opportunities.

Finance Officer Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee operation of financial procedures in respect of two organisations (Charity and Trading Company)
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts
  • Creditors Ledger (Accounts Payable) - posting invoices, issuing payments and BAC for Charity and Trading Company
  • Debtors Ledger (Accounts Receivable) - raising invoices and credit control for the Charity and Trading Company
  • Nominal ledger
  • Inter-company accounts, accruals & prepayments
  • Management of petty cash including coding claims and arranging reimbursement of float
  • Oversee payment and financial activity of the business's commercial contracts working closely with Business Support team
  • Payment of Staff & Board member expenses on a monthly basis including clearance of credit card accounts for management
  • Sage Payroll monthly run
  • VAT quarterly returns
  • Additional duties as required including banking weekly cheques


Essential:
  • Experience of Sage Line 50, Microsoft packages (including Excel, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of preparation of management accounts
  • Experience of and working procedures of GDPR
  • Good working knowledge of VAT & payroll
  • Financial management experience
  • Report writing & ability to present when require
  • Team player with strong customer services
  • Ability to work on own initiative


Desirable:
  • AAT or part qualified
  • Working within finance for a Charity with a Trading Company
  • Knowledge of Year End procedures
  • Business Planning
  • Charitable fundraising and preparing grant applications
  • Willing to travel on occasions within UK


£28,000 - £35,000
