Head of Finance - Bristol

Robert Half are working exclusively with a consultancy business based in central Bristol. With a 5 year strategic development plan to double their annual turnover (currently £12million), it is a fantastic time to join and play a big part in this process.


The Head of Finance will be responsible for a wide remit in this consultancy:
  • Responsible for the day to day management of the finance and contracts team, providing support to all staff
  • Challenging managers to ensure all contract, tenders and bids agree with group processes and are commercially sound
  • Work autonomously using highly specialist / technical knowledge to interpret a broad range of financial and technical policies
  • Provide interpretation and advice to Executive Directors and Senior Managers with the freedom to initiate appropriate action where required
  • Produce complex financial information for consideration by the Board and Exec team
  • Lead the development of financial systems, policies and procedures for the group
  • Develop, implement and monitor the financial components of the annual plan
  • Produce statutory annual accounts in line with IFRS and UK GAAP as required
  • Design and undertake surveys as necessary to improve accounting systems within the group
  • Lead officer for Internal and External Audit arrangements
  • Manage a team of 3 in accounting operations
  • Travel to the London and Sheffield offices where required

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent demonstrable finance knowledge and experience
  • 5 years experience in a senior finance role
  • Experience of corporate financial management in a complex group setup
  • Experience of financial planning, quality assurance mechanisms, financial governance and audit requirements
  • Good project management skills
  • Ability to lead production of monthly management and statutory accounts
  • Able to present highly complex financial information to staff at all levels
  • Commercial exposure
  • Able to be mobile across the UK to support the consultancy's group needs

Salary & Benefits

£60,000 - £65,000 + benefits
