Robert Half Finance and Accounting are currently looking to recruit a Purchase Ledger Associate on a permanent basis, to work for one of the largest national companies within the service industry, based in North Bristol.

The salary for this role is £19,000 to £25,000 per annum depending upon relevant skills and experience.



The Purchase Ledger Associate will liaise with suppliers, outsourced partners and business unit to understand and resolve significant disputes, issues and or escalations. Responsible for delivering a high level of service in a professional manner, ensuring policies process and procedures are always followed. The Purchase Ledger Associate will be responsible for resolving queries and escalations relating to Purchase orders, invoices and other supplier account queries. Managing a portfolio of suppliers supporting with processes where applicable.

Role responsibilities will include but not limited to:
  • To carry out the required actions and activities to ensure timely and efficient resolution of issues and disputes in relation to purchase orders, invoices or wider account queries, ensuring that no/minimal business disruption and that the company does not become liable for additional costs fines or penalties
  • To ensure all escalations are managed within agreed SLA's
  • Top correspond with suppliers and other stakeholders in a professional manner ensuing correspondence is processed properly in accordance with relevant deadlines
  • Identify weakness in process, systems or policy causing issues and concerns escalating solutions
  • Ensure good customer service delivered at all times
  • Undertake additional duties in line with capabilities


Person specification:
  • Experience of working in an AP team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with wide range of stakeholders
  • Capable of working on own initiative and self-motivating with good attention to details and levels of accuracy
  • Ability to align behaviour with the needs, priorities and goals of the organisation
  • Ability to maintain accurate and timely records while working to deadlines as appropriate
  • Flexible approach to daily tasks and adhoc duties
  • Confident and comfortable with dealing with performance related issues
  • Commitment drive and tenacity to achieve high standards of customer excellence
