Robert Half Finance and Accounting are currently looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join a professional, Engineering firm who are seeking a focused and energetic member of staff to join them on a permanent basis due to continued year-on-year growth. My client is based in Central Bath and is offering a very competitive package for the right person:

£20,000 - £24,000 per annum plus study support for AAT

About our client:

Robert Half are working with a fast-growing Engineering business based in central Bath who are currently seeking a join their team. Our client champions a collaborative approach when working with their clients, therefore this position is perfect for someone coming from a transactional finance background who is looking to develop their experience in accounting within a friendly working environment.

Role responsibilities will include but not limited to:
  • Raise sales invoices for clients in line with senior management team's instructions
  • Daily bank reconciliation
  • Assist with preparation of the Management Accounts and compile year end audit file
  • Assist in the preparation of prepayments and accruals
  • Perform tactful credit control
  • Deposit the company's cash receipts at the bank
  • Prepare and reconcile quarterly VAT returns
  • Maintain and account for transactions in petty cash
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • Collate monthly expenses schedule
  • Ensure that the company's creditors are paid in accordance with credit terms
  • Take the ownership of the fixed asset register and reconcile to Sage
  • Process purchase invoices and company credit card transactions into Sage
  • Adhoc analysis work for Directors and Financial Controller

Person specification:
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • AAT qualified preferred, alternatively prior experience working in an accounts department in a similar, varied role
  • Capable and proven experience of supporting the Directors and Team Leaders
  • Working as part of a team
  • Experience with SAGE is highly preferred
  • Confident Excel user
