The Glympton Park Estate is a privately owned residential, agricultural, woodland and sporting estate based in West Oxfordshire near Woodstock. As well as managing all the estate activities, the Glympton Estate office provides tax and legal advice to family members within the UK and overseas. Employing around 35 people and managing 3000 acres, the Glympton Park Estate is a diverse business within a unique setting.
The Finance Director will manage a small team and take responsibility for all financial reporting to the UK board of directors, boards of offshore parent and associated companies and individual family members. This hands-on role will ensure that all monthly management accounting, analysis, cash control, budgeting and forecasting is delivered in an effective fashion.
Working with the Estate Manager you will provide day-to-day executive management of Glympton Park Estate on behalf of the trustees, including maintaining and developing IT and providing support on HR matters and employee benefits. The Finance Director will act as Company Secretary and be expected to deliver the highest standards of corporate governance.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with previous experience in a senior financial role within a small to medium-sized entity. Prior experience in farm/land management is not essential, however, you should have an interest in this area, as well as in business diversification. You will be technically and commercially astute with a diplomatic and persuasive approach. Strong people management skills, excellent Excel and financial modelling experience and exposure to HR and IT management are all essential.
