Currently in the market for a driven graduate who can demonstrate a keen interest within Financial Services and becoming an Accountant. The successful candidate will hold excellent communication skills with a strong "can do" attitude. It is imperative that the candidate is from a reputable university having successfully obtained a 2:1 in a finance related degree at minimum as well as strong A -Levels.



The client is a leading early stage and growth capital investor with offices around London, Europe and North America.



Role





Looking for an individual to support the Finance Manager and Finance Director in relation to financial affairs of the firm. It is likely to be a part-time role of 3 to 4 days per week with some flexibility regarding working hours.

Responsibilities





The key responsibilities of the role include:



  • Dealing with the purchase day book on Sage, including checking invoices and obtaining approvals
  • UK and US staff expense claims on Expensify, including checking that claims are in accordance with firm's policies; correctly categorized and posted onto the ledgers
  • Setting-up payments for the Sage purchase ledger and expense claims
  • On a quarterly basis, analyse recharged expenses, raise invoices to portfolio companies and chase for payment
  • Working with the PAs, prepare Expensify analyses for credit cards so that the claims can be paid on a timely basis & costs can be uploaded/recorded on Sage
  • Prepare bank reconciliations for multi-currency accounts and ensure that intercompany balances agree across the group and with the funds
  • Set-up and post recurring multi-currency journal entries on Sage accounting system
  • In due course, potentially prepare the books of the main UK and US operating companies to trial balance level
  • Assist with the preparation of the statutory financial statements













  • There will be other ad hoc tasks in relation to the management companies, funds and queries from investors.



    The candidate should be familiar with working in a small business environment. Knowledge of Sage Lin 50 would be helpful and good Excel competency is expected
