Robert Half are working in exclusive partnership with a growing organisation within the education sector in Oxford to recruit a newly created Cost/AP Manager to join their growing finance team with a salary between £30,000 - £35,000. This is a challenging role dealing with a substantial workload but also the opportunity to implement new processes/procedures and further career development.

The Role

  • Overseeing the AP function and managing a team of 3 AP Clerks
  • Processing and resolving existing/historic ledgers
  • Implementing new processes/procedures
  • Being innovative and identify ways to improve efficiency
  • Liaising with stakeholders regarding system changes and certain processes
  • Assisting with systems development
  • Analysis contract costings
  • Assisting with accounts payable as and when required
  • Posting payroll


  • Must have extensive accounts payable/purchase ledger experience
  • Must have experience managing a finance team
  • Experience dealing with contracts would be ideal
  • AAT qualified would be advantageous
  • Proven experience implementing new processes within a finance/accounting function
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly organised
  • Driven and determined
  • Competent user of Excel; pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs

Salary & Benefits

Our client is offering a competitive salary between £30,000 - £35,000, 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), generous pension scheme and a number of excellent benefits.
