Robert Half are currently working on a fantastic opportunity based in Brislington for a Company Accountant within the consutruction industry. This opportunity has arisen due to additional work as a result of recent successes.

This role will suit an experienced Bookkeeper looking for a new challenge within a family cohesive environment.

Our client are looking to recruit a motivated, proactive and proficient accounts professional to support the Office Manager & MD in the day to day running of a busy construction and groundworks company based in Bristol. Overall responsibility for all accounting for a construction company with a multi-Million turn over.

Accounts Role Duties:
  • Ensure the preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Company's accounting records and financial systems
  • Support Office Manager & External Accountants
  • Purchase invoice processing and purchase ledger control
  • Sales invoice processing and sales ledger control
  • Bank reconciliations
  • CIS statements
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Management of company pension scheme
  • Dealing with HMRC queries
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • General data entry using Sage
  • Assist with general day to day running of accounts department
  • General administration - detailing with company emails, enquiries, answering phone
  • Effectively manage and develop the Finance department
  • Production of statutory accounts for the Company in accordance with relevant accounting principles / legislation
  • Manage & prepare budget, forecasts & income generation

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience in managing company accounts
  • Experience with accounting software sage
  • Knowledge of the building and construction industry
  • Good knowledge of using Microsoft Packages
  • A highly motivated work ethic and fine eye for detail
  • Self-efficient and a problem solver
  • Dedicated and pioneering
  • Innovative with systems and process to improve efficiency
  • Reliable in attendance and have a desire for achievement
  • Must be motivated to work on own
