Finance Manager (New Markets) £48K - 51K

Robert Half are delighted to be partnering with a fast-growing services business in South-East Bristol to find a new Finance Manager to join their expanding team. The Finance Manager will support the Financial Controller in managing the team as they work to integrate new business from a new geographical market into existing frameworks.


The Finance Manager role has a broad and varied remit. You will be responsible for:
  • Travelling to new sites to meet key stakeholders - gathering information and disseminating it to relevant teams on return to head office
  • Being an ambassador for the company to newly acquired businesses and integrating them seamlessly into the group
  • Support new sites in the production of the monthly management accounts, including sales, payments and debtors reports & reconciliations
  • Production of a monthly P&L at cost centre level and balance sheet (as required) for each legal entity to zero materiality
  • Review completion accounts and apportionment statements, responding with queries and approve the accounts for final sign-off by the FIC
  • Line management of direct reports to include regular one-to-one meetings, objective setting and review


The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or similar) and have 5 years of post-qualified experience in a commercial environment. As well as being strong technically, you must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills which you are able to demonstrate when representing the business. The role and company are very fast-paced, so the ability to multitask and organise a broad workload are imperative qualities. Furthermore, it is important that candidates interested in this role possess the following:
  • A strong technical understanding of balance sheets and financial statements
  • A pragmatic problem-solving attitude and be calm and confident under pressure
  • Excellent IT skills including advanced Excel, and experience with various management reporting system
  • Experience working internationally is desirable and you must be open to international travel (up to 4 trips per month)
  • Strong attention to detail, and able to deliver right-first-time results quickly without getting lost in the detail
  • Deadline focussed, and willing to put in the effort required to ensure they always meet them
  • Experience in line management or supervision of others, and a genuine interest in training, mentoring and coaching
  • Meticulous organisation skills


This position is with one of the fastest growing businesses in the South West and as such the finance department are very busy. It is a fast-paced working environment that rewards hard work, but hours are not overly long, and the attitude is very un-corporate despite the impressive annual turnover.
