This is a fantastic opportunity to take on the role of Group Financial Reporting Manager on an interim basis. Reporting into the Director of Group Financial Reporting & Control, you will be acting as a business partner with key Group stakeholders such as Tax, Treasury, Investor Relations, Group Secretariat and External Audit.
This is a key role within the Group Finance team based in London. The job includes but is not limited to:
Playing a lead role in the Interim and Annual reporting process, covering planning, review and production of the primary statements and notes to the accounts. The role also contributes to the finance review, financial analyst slides and the audit committee papers.
Acquisition support for the business development team principally covering the review of any acquisition accounting but also to provide input on ad hoc accounting issues throughout.
Responsibility for all defined benefit pension accounting including acting as business partner to Director of Pension on pension management projects or structures. Working with the Group’s actuary to understand movements in scheme and work on ad hoc pension queries.
Technical support and review for Group RTR and Group FP&A teams on complex transactions or statutory entity accounts e.g. IFRS share costs and Group Cash Flow.
Ad hoc projects as defined by the CFO and Director of Group Finance.
Key requirements include:
Qualified accountant (with appropriate level of PQE)
Experience of working in or auditing a similar size / complexity business
Accounting knowledge of both IFRS and UK GAAP across all areas and a specific understanding of: IFRS2 Share-based payments, IFRS 3 (Revised) Business combinations, IFRS 10 Consolidation, IFRS 11 Joint Arrangements, IFRS 9 Financial Instruments (including hedge accounting), IFRS 15 Revenue from contracts with customers, IFRS 16 Leases and IAS19 Employee benefits.
Experience of Hyperion reporting and Oracle – would be beneficial but not essential
Building and developing relationships within the finance community
Impeccable stakeholder management experience
