TaxAssist Accountants are the largest network of accountants who focus their accountancy skills specifically on small businesses and taxpayers needing a tax return in the UK. We specialise in providing accountancy services, tax returns, payroll, bookkeeping, tax savings and tax advice to small businesses and individuals. Duties and Responsibilities:
You will support the Practice Manager, you will need to be able to prepare the sole trader and limited company accounts. The practice has established processes in place, along with access to excellent ongoing training & technical support in all aspects of the role.
You will be 100% client facing and take on new and existing clients to manage.
The role includes the following duties and therefore you are required to have technical experience in:
- Preparing Ltd Company statutory accounts and preferably but not essentially Corporation Tax Returns.
- Preparing Sole Trader Accounts and individual tax returns
- Preparing VAT Returns along with Online Submission.
- Assisting and training other members of staff.
Any new training will be provided in learning the practice software, however, experience with accounting and tax software such as Quickbooks Online, Sage Accounts, TaxCalc, Practice Ignition and Receiptbank will be an advantage but not essential.
You will have proven accounts and taxation experience and will have worked in practice for a number of years. You must have relevant and recent small practice experience and be used to working on your own initiative. Ideally, you will be qualified or studying towards ACCA/CA, or hold an accountancy degree. However, we would also welcome your application if you are qualified by experience or a Accounting Technician or Taxation Technician
You must have a good working knowledge of accounts preparation and computations of taxes with the ability to hit the ground running and assist with complex tasks. As a successful candidate you will also have:

• Drive & ambition with a high focus towards customer service.
You will also have a sound knowledge of accounting principles and strong business acumen. Your tax knowledge should be up to date and you will need good IT skills.
You must have good people skills, be highly organised and be able to work unsupervised to strict deadlines. You must have a good command of the English language (both spoken and written) as the job involves writing of technical emails to clients.
