The Role

Robert Half is proud to be partnering with one of Scotland's leading FMCG brand to assist with the recruitment of a Financial Controller based in Aberdeen. This is role will form a key part of the senior management team and reporting directly to the Directors, the position will head up a team of two direct reports. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially and operationally astute finance professional looking for a challenging position with an already very successful but still growing business which will provide excellent career progression and development opportunities. Key duties and responsibilities will include:

Preparation monthly management accounts with meaningful commentary, increased transparency and rigorous investigation of any variances to budget delivered on a timely basis, and implementing improvements where necessary.

Initiate, create and maintain a range of regular financial models, reports and analysis, ensuring information is meaningful, clear and fitting for decision making for both Site Management and the wider Board.

Development of weekly KPI's and management information.

Monthly balance sheet reconciliation.

Oversee monthly VAT return and ensure compliance with HMRC legislation

Overview of credit control, purchase ledger, cash register, sales reports, payroll admin, VAT returns, Intrastat reporting, petty cash and fixed assets.

Manage and develop small customer services team dealing with invoicing, dispatch of goods and procurement of materials for the site.

Organisation of resources to meet the demands of the team.

Assist with any other adhoc finance duties

One off projects as required for the Group

Your profile

You will be a fully qualified accountant with at least five years' experience in a finance leadership role. Ideally you will have experience of working in a fast paced, commercial FMCG/food manufacturing environment although wider manufacturing sector experience will also be considered. You will have experience of working at both strategic and operational level and previous staff management experience is essential. You will be open to travel to x2 over sea's sites once PCM. Excellent general finance system and advanced Excel skills required
