Multi-national manufacturing group is looking to recruit a highly capable Financial Controller to be responsible for the financial management, controls and reporting of this Kent division.  As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be providing the financial insight to facilitate effective decision making and improvements.

A qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA); a Financial Controller, who has ideally worked in a high-volume manufacturing environment.  Additional knowledge of the financial management of capital investments and inventory would be advantageous.

This is wide-ranging role with many indicators of success.  A brief outline is given below:

Relationships: As Financial Controller, you will be building effective relationships with key personnel and working with site teams to investigate variances.  Agreeing monthly production numbers.  Support the management team with the development of future products.  Interfacing with other UK and global finance teams for consolidations, reporting, internal controls and collaboration of initiatives.  Liaising with the company’s internal and external auditors.

Improvement: Drive a continuous improvement culture across finance and operations; improving systems, processes and reporting in response to changing market and business needs.  Drive cost saving initiatives and provide financial advice.

Compliance: Preparation and analysis of monthly accounts, cash flow projections, standard costs, annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and year end accounts.  Local reporting and being an integral part of the global finance tam.

Review: Review the drivers of the business to help provide strategic direction.  Monitoring and reporting of inventories, assets and capital investment projects.

To be considered for this Financial Controller position, you will require a working knowledge of financial processes in a manufacturing operation.  Experience of US GAAP and SOX would be highly beneficial.  A high level of IT literacy, especially integrated financial and costing systems is required.  In addition to your technical skills, the ability to work with others in a results-orientated environment is essential.
