Salary: Band M £44,358
Your skill with figures will get London’s attention.
Here at the Met, things are changing. And it’s all down to an ambitious transformation project that’ll improve the way we work, and the way we police. Managing billion-pound budgets, our finance department is leading the way. And now we’re looking for people who are just as influential as the city we serve and the figures we work with. People who can adapt. Who can look at things differently. This way, we’ll focus on what matters and make our city even better.
With impressive finance skills, you’ll support a range of departments across the Met – everything from homicide, to firearms or SO15. You’ll provide expert financial analysis that will help Operational Leads reduce costs and improve the quality of our services. It’s all about making sure we’re equipped to respond to the ever-evolving needs of London.
With good knowledge of revenue and capital, you’ll drive the reporting and accounting for some of our most important projects. Identifying key data and commercial risks, you’ll keep an eye on how we can get the most out of our budgets and work in the best way. As part of this, you’ll champion cultural change and work collaboratively to help implement the One Met Model.
To start inspiring impressive changes across the Met, you’ll need experience of advising and guiding business decisions and frameworks. Ideally, you’ll be CCAB-qualified, but more importantly, you’ll need strong knowledge of public sector procurement and contract management. Much of the role will rely on your ability to foster outstanding relationships across the Met – influencing key decisions and inspiring new opinions. Resilient and determined, you’ll thrive when working under pressure and continually look for new challenges.
Help us to set a new standard for the city. And have your skills felt across the whole of London.
