This role will mainly be based in Brighton

The University of Brighton Academies Trust is seeking an experienced senior leader to join the Trust as Finance Director, to help us to achieve our strategic objectives and to support us through an exciting time of change and development. 

The main purpose of the role is to provide outstanding strategic and professional leadership for the finance team, and all financial aspects of the Trust, whilst providing advice, insight and challenge to the executive team and Board of Trustees in determining the strategic business direction of the Trust. The successful candidate will also be the Trust’s Chief Financial Officer.

The University of Brighton Academies Trust is a network of 15 academies across Sussex which all support each other – and the pupils – to excel. The Trust is sponsored by the University of Brighton and this close connection allows us to draw on a variety of expertise including that of the university’s school of education. The Trust has an excellent reputation for providing high quality education and transforming the lives of children and young people.  Our professional services team, based in Brighton and Hastings, provides operational support to the academies in line with the Trust’s values of Excellence, Integrity and Innovation.

You will have proven experience of strategic leadership of a finance service, with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders, as well as a professional accountancy qualification or commensurate knowledge and experience.
