The Assistant Analyst role

A key figure within the Commercial Finance team, you’ll provide comprehensive support to the Senior Finance team and the Commercial Finance Analysts. You’ll assist with the month end process, help identify new business performance reports and KPI monitors. You’ll be at the heart of any project, compiling and evaluating the financial impact of business decisions. Working closely with another Assistant Analyst, you’ll track and report on supplier funding agreements and improvement targets, analyse and review annual vendor contracts and ensure core systems and reporting models are updated. It’ll be your job to lead the implementation process and report improvements to aid decision making within the business.


The skills you need as an Assistant Analyst

Ideally, you are part ACCA or CIMA qualified and if you’re not, it’s definitely something that you would like to pursue. You come from a retail or FMCG background where you have provided key decision support analysis and you have a basic understanding of what makes up margin components of a business. Highly numerate, you can model complex numbers and you’re a pro at producing reports from large data sets. You have proven relationship-building skills and you’re a natural when it comes to asking the right questions to get the information you need.  Organisation is key, plus you’re a whizz when it comes to Excel!
