The Role

Robert Half are working with an established, international, engineering business to recruit a Management Accountant based in Derby, specifically an ACA qualified 1st time mover from Practice looking to develop in a commercial industry environment. The role will be directly responsible to the Finance Manager, assisting in delivering effective financial management information appropriate for decision making, control, reporting and analysis.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Annual budget & strategic plans.
  • Monthly management accounts consolidation.
  • Monthly board papers.
  • Monthly overhead reporting and analysis.
  • Quarterly forecasts.
  • Cash reporting and analysis.
  • Management and reconciliation of inter-company accounts.
  • Processing of monthly journals as required.
  • Other quarterly & monthly management information as required.
  • Ensure all statutory, regulatory and fiscal requirements are discharged effectively.
  • Support the quarterly forecast and annual budgeting process, producing an analysis and explanation of variances.
  • Ensure accounting and control systems are appropriate to the requirements of the market stream and are generating management information suitable for effective decision making.
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual accounts.
  • Ensure the accounts comply with appropriate legislation, FRS and other pronouncements.
  • Liaise, as appropriate, with external auditors.
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts

Your profile

This role is perfect for a candidate that is organised and focussed with excellent communication skills. A newly-qualified ACA individual making their first move from Practice is the specific profile required.

You will need the following:

  • Good knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office, finance & ERP systems
  • Report writing and analysis skills
  • Advanced Excel spreadsheet skills (V-Lookups and Pivots)
  • Ability to communicate and form strong relationships with the Business Unit commercial teams
  • Ability to see the big picture and analyse numbers and trends
  • A positive, enthusiastic, 'can do' approach

Salary & Benefits

£35000 - £45000 + extensive corporate benefits package.
