We are seeking to recruit an engaging and articulate future Client Manager, to join this Leeds Accountancy firm, entering at Semi Senior Accountant level, but with a view to being given substantial client contact from the start. The Semi Senior Accountant job is suitable for an ACCA/ACA/AAT part qualified accountant with several years' experience working in a public practice accountancy firm. Applications from suitable QBE candidates will also be considered. Ideally, we are looking for someone with 2 or more years’ experience, with a broad base of skills including Accounts, Tax compliance and some Payroll exposure. Ongoing training and Development will be given.

The firm works with sole traders and family-run businesses, trusts and estates, small companies and large, corporate businesses, and HNW individuals. The main responsibilities for this Semi Senior Accountant job include: 

  • Accounts preparation for Limited companies, Sole traders and Partnerships 
  • Banking reconciliation
  • VAT returns (quarterly & monthly)
  • Bookkeeping
  • Overseeing the work of more junior members of staff 
  • Managing a portfolio of clients 
  • Completion of tax returns, both personal and corporation 
  • Liaising with clients and attending meetings to assess client needs 

The perfect Semi Senior Accountant will be ACCA/ACA part qualified with a minimum of two years' experience of working within a busy public practice accountancy firm. Persuasive communication and interpersonal skills are important for this role as the successful Semi Senior Accountant will progress quickly into a client facing role. You must be well presented and able to work within a team.  Experience of using IRIS is desirable but not essential.
