Finance Transformation Director  


The finance function is transitioning to a regional model based on four globally consistent pillars; finance business partnering, finance operations, finance controlling & reporting and financial planning and analysis.  In addition, the finance function is implementing a single instance of core finance systems operating with standardised processes. This role will be pivotal in supporting the EVP Finance – Commercial & Transformation and wider Finance Leadership Team in transitioning to the new finance design embedding global processes and supporting technology architecture in a consistent and controlled manner.


Finance transformation leadership

The programme plans to deliver the overall Finance Transformation which includes Organisational, Process and Technology change

The delivery of the overall project milestones to the agreed criteria within the functional and technical specifications and to the agreed timescales, quality and budget

Defining scope and provide direction to the project team

Defining, planning and managing the project, including tasks, resources, time-frames and governance

Developing detailed project work plans, including specifying critical path, dependencies, key milestones and deliverables

Mobilising team and running stakeholder and project meetings

Managing project issues and risks

Providing day-to-day management of the project

Project change control

Project budget control and management of the investment request process

Monitoring stage gate and project progress against the agreed tolerances

Managing issue resolution and escalate to steering committee, if necessary

Organising and chairing the weekly project progress meetings

Attending the project meetings, stakeholder meetings and steering committee meetings

Facilitating resource management across teams

Managing priority and conflicts between work streams

Reporting progress to the Project Steering Committee

Identifying dependencies with other change programmes

Ensuring all documentation relating to systems, processes and organisation are signed off in a timely fashion and the required input from Sage has been received   


Previous experience of implementing large scale transformation programmes – managing a major global change programme

Programme Management qualification or equivalent experience

Strong leadership skills with ability to manage co-located and remote teams ensuring visibility of progress, issues and driving teams to the desired outcomes

Ability to understand the content of the programme – the as is state of Finance in the countries, regions and globally as well as the to be design – in order to direct the team and the key stakeholders and sponsors

Significant experience of interacting with and influencing senior stakeholders

Able to work easily in a multi-cultural environment

Strong communication and presentation skills

Able to manage pressure and adapt style to work with individuals from across the business and from third party partners

Command of a European language would be ideal, French, German or Spanish

Technical / professional qualifications:

Qualified Accountant

Project management qualification (PRINCE2)

Lean/ Six Sigma qualification & experience preferred
