The SFO is looking for qualified finance professionals with experience in investigations to join the fight against serious economic crime.

Your motivation is key - we are looking for individuals with a passion and commitment to fighting financial crime.

You may be currently working in a forensic services department or you may have had some experience of financial crime through your work as an auditor or insolvency practitioner. Either way you are attracted to the intellectual challenge of complex criminal investigations and want to develop your career in the world of law enforcement.

You will join one of the SFO’s operational divisions as a Principal Accountant working as part of multi-disciplinary teams investigating fraud and bribery and corruption cases.

You will also benefit from a structured development programme to gain wider experience of the criminal justice system, after which you may have the opportunity to become a Principal Investigator and lead some of the country’s most high profile and complex investigations.

Our staff enjoy an enviable work-  life balance, a quality of casework that is considered second to none, and through your efforts you will make a real difference.

What we do

The SFO is a specialist prosecuting authority tackling the top level of serious or complex fraud, bribery and corruption. We take on a small number of large economic crime cases.

We are part of the UK criminal justice system covering England, Wales and Northern Ireland, but not Scotland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.

We are unusual in the UK in that we both investigate and prosecute our cases. We were set up this way because these kinds of cases are complicated and lawyers and investigators need to work together from the beginning.
