Pro-Finance is recruiting for Newly Qualified Accountants to work in Brentwood - Essex for a well-established Retail Bank. We are looking to recruit a number of Finance professionals who will be performing various roles including:
  • Treasury
  • European Financial Analysis
  • European Accounting
  • Regulatory Reporting

The specific roles and responsibilities will vary but the following core skills and expected range of tasks will be required:
  • Learns and applies FCE business processes and procedures
  • Assists in gathering, reporting and analysing financial information in order to support various financial, regulatory and management reporting requirements
  • Builds and improves harmonised and efficient finance processes to support FCE's strategic objectives
  • Applies and implements robust control processes to ensure management, regulatory and financial reporting integrity
  • Uses facts and data to analyse problems and provide robust solutions
  • Creates and delivers presentations and communications, covering various financial matters, to appropriate audiences including both internal and/or external stakeholders
  • Develops, manages and delivers project work plans, providing status updates to senior management

The roles will provide broad experience of key financial management skills and the successful candidate with have the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to operate at a more senior level in the organisation.

Essential Requirements:
  • Professional qualified accountant: we would normally expect the successful candidate to have a professional accounting qualification (typically ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • A self-starter who can challenge assumptions and identify/implement process improvements
  • Be able to demonstrate a strong ability to work independently, as well as in a team and, where appropriate, be capable of leading and managing a small team of employees
  • Have good interpersonal , written and verbal communication skills, and be able to present clearly, concisely and candidly at all levels within the organisation to different types of stakeholders including senior management, auditors, and internal and external customers
  • Possess effective time management and prioritisation skills, ensuring appropriate flexibility in balancing disparate tasks, with an ability to deliver high quality work within tight deadlines
  • A quality and improvement focused mind set, ensuring attention to detail whilst also having a tenacious aptitude for taking ownership for tasks and delivering results
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills and demonstrate ability to interpret financial and operational information and make sound data-driven recommendations and decisions.
  • Be highly competent in the use of MS Excel and MS Word and other standard office
  • To understand what the fair treatment of customers means and to ensure this is consistently incorporated into the role as appropriate

Desirable Requirements:
  • The candidate should have an awareness and knowledge of effective compliance to FCA, IFRS and US GAAP requirements
  • Knowledge of other European languages whilst not essential would be an advantage
  • Prior experience in the Financial Services and Banking sector would also be an advantage

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Salary: commensurate with experience (£37,900 - £45,500 per annum range) plus additional annual payment in the form of a Holiday Bonus (between £1,700 - £2,100)
