My client is an international oilfield services company headquartered in London who are seeking to add a Project Accountant to their head office team to become involved in a billion pound EPC project.
Reporting into the Finance Director you will be project lead on a major project in my clients portfolio. With prior experience of working in an oilfield services or engineering industry, the successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a passion for, and deep knowledge of, the industry.
The day to day activities will involve the production of monthly P&L and Balance Sheets, cost validations, cost allocations, and reconciliations for this specific project. The project is full life cycle and you will also have to undertake monthly and quarterly revenue and cash forecasting for the project, as well as variance analysis.
You will have exposure to the client and as such stakeholder management skills are a necessity as you will be liaising with all levels of colleagues and candidates, many of whom are not finance focused, so an ability to explain processes clearly and concisely is required.
You will have control over the group budgeting and forecasting process and maintain cash flow data to compare to budgets, and will be required to utilise SAP so clearly a prior background with this system is advantageous.
This is a global business and as such there will be lots of opportunities to travel. You will gain exposure to the main drivers of the business and will have Board level exposure on a daily basis.
My client truly is a global player in the oilfield services sector and works with every main operator. They have ambitions to expand with their healthy project pipeline. The culture there is very much meritocratic and remuneration is closely linked to experience and good performance.
