Financial Accountant
Salary £41,353 - £44,586 pa

On 1st November 2011, Barnet and Southgate Colleges came together in a strategic merger that will transform the delivery of FE in the capital for students, our business partners and communities. Much more than the sum of its parts, the new College has exciting plans for the future and effective financial management, accounting and control will be one of the keys to their achievement.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for providing and enhancing a comprehensive financial service, with strong in-built financial controls, College wide. As well as ensuring the effective operation of ledgers and production of annual statements, your success will depend upon building positive working relationships with the College’s other diverse functions and key stakeholders

A qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, CIPFA, ACCA) with 4+ years post qualification experience, you will be used to managing a finance function and its team of staff, and well versed in the preparation of financial statements, year-end accounts and cash flow forecasts. Some experience of financial reporting to a senior management team or board of directors is essential, along with first rate communication and influencing skills, and a strong focus on continuous improvement.
