A highly motivated new Head of Finance is required, to oversee a team of five, headed by the Accounts Manager. The role encompasses financial management reporting, preparation and management of budgets and cash flow forecasts, management of investment processes, analysis of financial performance of the firm and assisting in achieving improved profitability, to deal with all insurances, to oversee money laundering and POCA issues and to ensure the successful development of the firm in line with the business plan. Also to liaise with the firm's accountants in the preparation of the annual accounts and manage the firm's relationship with the bank. Financial control with particular regard to cash flow control through collection of monies on account and billing procedures and working with departments to ensure achievement of billing, time recording and recovery targets.

The ideal candidate will be the holder of a relevant qualification (CIMA/ACCA etc), have experience in finance/accounting, knowledge of the SARS (Solicitors Accounts Rules), be a team player with a flexible approach and have the ability to cope under pressure. Experience of working in a law firm would be advantageous. Other skills required are the ability to deal with the day to day running of the Accounts Department and to gain and keep the confidence of those the post holder comes into contact with. Microsoft Word and Excel experience is essential.

A candidate requiring reduced or part time hours could also be considered.
