Douglas Llambias calls in police over rival's 'dirty tricks'.
Police are investigating alleged ‘dirty tricks’ by a top headhunter against a rival firm.
An employee of recruitment consultants Michael Page is said to have tricked a competitor, Douglas Llambias Associates, into divulging valuable confidential information.
The employee phoned the company, saying he was from the advertising group WPP, and needed a shortlist of candidates for the job of a financial director in Poland.
The employee is alleged to have stipulated that the shortlist would have to be provided on the quiet and gave a private fax number. In response, Douglas Llambias faxed over 11 CVs.
The Michael Page employee is also alleged to have contacted WPP claiming to be working for Douglas Llambias.
Douglas Llambias and WPP realised they had been duped and traced the employee to Michael Page because he had used his real name.
Since the incident in April could not be resolved amicably, Douglas Llambias called in the police. Michael Page was not available for comment.
