BDO financial services team expansion

Ariel Grosberg is the third partner appointed to the division in the last 18 months

BDO has announced the appointment of a new financial services partner this week.

In a statement, the firm has revealed that “Ariel Grosberg joins BDO following 15 years at PwC, working across retailing banking, brokerage houses, hedge funds, leasing, and corporate treasury firms.”

Grosberg’s appointment as an audit partner will contribute to the continued expansion of BDO’s financial services team. BDO has attracted more than 60 new partners to the business in the last two years alone. Coupled with their recently announced merger with Moore Stephens, the firm is having a fantastic 2018.

Moore Stephens also has a strong and firmly established financial services practice, with a particular level of experience in the insurance sector; it will be interesting to see how these two experienced firms combine in these areas.

Ariel Grosberg said: “The UK, and London in particular, is home to one of the most dynamic financial economies globally. BDO’s financial services team fully understands the issues and regulatory challenges faced by clients in the sector and already has an impressive client base. I am looking forward to continuing my work with larger well-established institutions as well as servicing those that are newer to the market.”

With experience working with building societies and UK subsidiaries of overseas parents, as well as clients bases that have ranged across FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies, Grosberg is the third partner to join the financial services team at BDO in the last 18 months.

Neil Fung-On, head of financial services at BDO, concluded: “Financial services remains a growing sector for us and our team has grown significantly this year. We are continuing to help clients retain and grow assets, mitigate risk and respond to ever-changing regulatory and technological requirements.

“The appointment of Ariel reinforces our commitment to ensuring we provide our clients with quality advice that allows them to manage these demands and challenges.”
