BDO expansion continues with the appointment of three new partners

Now that the BDO and Moore Stephens LLP merger is complete, what’s next?

Earlier this month, the merger between BDO and Moore Stephens LLP was finalised; the firm is now continuing plans for growth with the expansion of their forensics, advisory, and audit teams. Three new partners have been appointed and are listed below.

Simon Greaves

Simon Greaves will be starting as a partner in BDO’s forensics team, moving over from his previous role as managing director at Berkeley Research Group.

With a total of more than 20 years of financial services experience, with a focus on global trade markets, Greaves will be focusing on litigation, advisory work, and valuations. He will be working with large banks, corporates, and asset managers.

Leighton Thomas

Leighton Thomas is joining as part of BDO’s audit team after 20-years working at PwC.

Thomas will continue to drive the firm’s high level of growth, and work with disruptive tech businesses. Specialising in venture capital, private equity-backed businesses, Thomas will support BDO clients throughout the growth journey—from scale-up, through to maturity, and the potential exit.

Matt Lister

Like Thomas, Matt Lister has made the move from PwC to join BDO’s Thames Tower Reading office as a corporate finance partner. His main areas of expertise are industrial manufacturing markets and consumer markets.

Lister will be will be specialising in transaction support for BDO clients who are based in Thames Valley and the surrounding region.

In reaction to these three latest appointments, Paul Eagland, managing partner at BDO, said: “Just one month after announcing two new partners, I am thrilled to be announcing another three partners are joining the firm.

“We are only [three] months into 2019, and our recent merger with Moore Stephens LLP has set the tone for a great year ahead as we continue to attract the best and brightest talent across all levels.

“The experience that Simon, Leighton, and Matt bring to their respective teams will be a fantastic addition to BDO.”
