Accountant hails breakthrough for women in the Middle East
A Deloitte auditor has marked a milestone for sexual equality in the Middle
East by becoming the first Saudi woman to gain a licence to practice as a
certified public accountant in the Kingdom.
Kholoud Adnan Mousa told news website
zawya.com:
“This is not only a great personal achievement for Kholoud and for her family
but also for women in Saudi Arabia.”
She added: “I am very pleased with the licence I received which should now
open the door for more Saudi woman to pursue career opportunities in the field
of accounting and auditing.”
Mousa works for Deloitte’s Saudi member Bakr Abulkhair & Co which has
offices in Riyadh, Jeddah and Khobar.
