Grant Thornton leads London SME finance initiative
Firm to help small companies in the capital raise £64m
Grant Thornton is to play a key role in two new initiatives from London mayor
Boris Johnson’s office aimed at raising finance and investment for more than
4,500 SMEs in the capital.
The Gateway2Investment and Gateway2Finance programmes plan to raise at least
£64m for small businesses in London while also helping them understand their
finance needs and cultivate skills to raise capital. A consortium of private
sector companies, led by Grant Thornton will deliver the programmes.
“Programmes such as this are vital to give a much-needed boost to the UK
economy by stimulating investment and creating jobs,” said Grant Thornton chief
executive Scott Barnes.
