Grant Thornton global revenues climb 12%
Grant Thornton International posts fourth consecutive year of double-digit growth, as revenues hit $2.8bn
Revenues at Grant Thornton international have climbed by 12%
to $2.8bn (£1.4bn) for the year to 30 September 2006, as the firm delivers
double-digit growth for the fourth year running.
The US firm was once again the biggest contributor to global
revenues, with revenues that grew 19% to $987m.
The UK firm was
second in the global rankings, generating revenues of $491.6m but only growing
by a mediocre 4%.

McDonnell , chief executive officer, Grant Thornton International
said the results marked another strong year for his firm.
McDonnell said he was particularly pleased with growth in
emerging markets. The Vietnam firm, for instance grew by 117%, while GT Ukraine
recorded 93% growth. Firms in Brazil, Russia and India all grew by over 50%.
‘Firms grew particularly well in emerging markets – in South
East Asia, the BRIC
countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China) and Central and Eastern Europe
especially.
‘As these economies emerge it is critical for member firms to
capitalise on the opportunities – and I am very pleased to see that reflected so
strongly in these financial results,’ said McDonnell.
