Johnson, 56, of Green View, Ripon in North Yorkshire has been jailed for
five-and-a-half years after admitting to 14 counts of theft from his employer
while working as an accountant.
The Yorkshire Post reported
that Johnson used the £803,000 in stolen funds to fund luxury holidays,
jewellery, a state-of-the-art TV and even a herd of alpacas.
According to the paper, Johnson gave false details to get an accounting job
with North Yorkshire company Econ
Engineering.
According to prosecutor Nicholas Barker, Johnson already had three previous
convictions for similar offences dating back to 1983 and had served 18 months in
prison for arson.
Johnson does not have a qualification in chartered accountancy.
