Lord Hastings to head up global CSR team
Lord Michael Hastings of Scarisbrick, the former corporate social
responsibility (CSR) chief at the BBC, has joined KPMG International as its
global head of CSR.
Lord Hastings has been head of CSR at the BBC since 2003, where he led a
range of corporate and business responsibility programs.
He has spent 12 years at the national broadcaster, starting off as a
journalist and broadcaster before serving as the BBC’s head of public affairs
between 1996 and 2003.
At KPMG he will direct CSR strategy for the firm’s global network.
Mike Rake, chairman of KPMG International and senior partner at KPMG UK,
welcomed Lord Hastings, adding: ‘There is a growing focus on the need for
successful companies and organizations to be also responsible, and have a set of
values which guide their strategy and investments – and the way they behave
toward their people, their clients and the communities in which they live and
work.
