Letters - School's out but we still can't speel.

I thought your readers may be interested in the following, especially if they are considering professional training.

I recently applied to training company BPP in London for a lecturing post and received a typically glib ‘thanks, but no thanks’ letter.

For my own reference I wrote back to Nicola Eastlake, recruitment manager at BPP and asked if, for my own reference, she could tell me the areas in which I was lacking.

She kindly responded stating that other candidates had been of a ‘higher caliber’ (her exact words) than myself.

Presumably for BPP the use of a spellchecker is not required for those ‘higher caliber’ lecturing candidates.
