It must have been an interesting atmosphere the other evening at the ICAEW’s South Essex district society’s annual dinner.
Among the many notables on the guest list was institute president Graham Ward, as well as other society presidents from around the country.
Nothing unusual in that you might think – Ward has not exactly stinted on the number of dinners he has attended during his year in office.
Only that South Essex is the heartland of the district society reform rebellion and could it be possible, that over dinner Ward and other members were busy plotting how to scupper the campaigners’ call for an egm.
You have to admire the man’s audacity.
