Based upon the information available to the Association for Accountancy& Business Affairs (see visar.csustan.edu/aaba/aaba.htm) the number of new ACCA members from the UK is declining.
In 1997, 3909 new members joined the ACCA. For 1998 and 1999, the figures are 2832 and 2762 respectively. While the ACCA may be expanding its membership informer British colonies, the same is not the case for the UK.
So it is no good blaming the OFT.
