I look for supporting evidence that they are competent – like do they have a relevant qualification. Recognising the term ‘accountant’ as someone with a qualification only answers one of my questions and that only in part.
I suspect that this has more to do with trying to convince the world we are not boring and to get away from the bad press we as a profession have to suffer occasionally. Can I do my funny walk now?
