Last year I was critical about the coolness with which some exhibitors greeted the advances of the consultants attending.

I sense a change is afoot.

It is becoming clear to manufacturers how important consultants are to the purchasing and influencing chain. Our own magazine research shows us that consultants are, as often as not, carrying a great deal of decision-making weight. If you are going to Birmingham as an exhibitor watch out for the badges marked ‘consultant’. There’s a goldmine to be tapped.
