As my opinion differs from that of expressed under the heading ‘Partners – a question of trust’ (page 14, 14 June), I thought I should write to you.
I believe the goodwill of a practice (subject to any agreement to the contrary) is owned by all the partners collectively.
A partner owns a share of the whole goodwill but not any particular post or client. They are not ‘his clients’ in my view.
