PWC’S former financial services head has taken a major governance role on Santander UK’s board.
Chris Jones, who headed up FS across the EMEA region for the past two years as part of a 36-year career at PwC, replaces former Bradford & Bingley finance director Rosemary Thorne as Santander UK’s audit committee chair.
Jones has specialised in the audit of banks and other financial institutions since the mid-1980s. He is currently a non-executive of Redburn Europe.
In other board changes, Terry Burns stepped down as chairman of the UK board and was succeeded by Shriti Vadera.
