    Finance expert Newman takes IG board role

    Former Aviva finance executive Jim Newman takes non-executive role at IG

    SENIOR INSURANCE finance executive Jim Newman is to take a board role at IG.

    Newman will serve as a non-executive at the FTSE 250-listed online spread-betting business.

    He was a founder member and CFO at insurance investment vehicle Resolution LLP, and currently serves as group transformation director for Friends Life and Resolution Limited. Newman was earlier a finance director for its legacy business Resoution Plc.

    He held a number of roles at Aviva over a ten-year period, including group integration director for the CGU/Norwich Union merger and FD of Nowrich Union Life (Aviva’s UK life business).

    IG chairman Jonathan Davie said: “I am delighted to welcome Jim Newman to the board of IG. Jim’s distinguished career and extensive experience in the financial services industry will be much valued by the board as we continue to invest in and expand the business.”
