REGIONAL AIRLINE FLYBE has said its chief financial officer of six years is to depart following a management reshuffle that saw the company split the roles of chairman and chief executive.
The separation of the two roles saw Saad Hammad appointed as chief executive, and Jim French become non-executive chairman, while Andrew Knuckey, CFO since 2007, is to leave once a successor has been found.
Knuckey, who is looking “to pursue a number of finance opportunities”, played a lead role in the acquisition and integration of BA Connect in 2007; the IPO on the London Stock Exchange in 2010; and more recently the design and implementation of the first phases of the turnaround plan.
Flybe added that three board directors – Mark Chown, director of corporate strategy; Mike Rutter, managing director of Flybe Outsourcing Solutions and Andrew Strong, managing director, Flybe UK will step down from the board with immediate effect.
Paul Simmons will join the company as chief commercial officer from 28 October 2013 from easyJet where he was director, UK Market.
Flybe shares rose 0.5p in morning trading on the London Stock Exchange to 60p a share.
