MARK WEINBERGER has been appointed global chairman and CEO of Ernst & Young at the same time that the Big Four firm adopted a new global brand name, unveiled a new logo and adopted a new tagline.
Weinberger, the firm’s former global head of tax, was elected in January but assumed the role as the firm changed its global brand to EY and chose the phrase “Building a better working world” to serve as its tagline.
“Shortening our name will provide consistency and ease of use for EY practices and clients around the world,” said Weinberger.
“Our new brand name and logo demonstrate clearly and boldly who we are and reflects the goal we have recently set ourselves, to be the number one brand in our profession.”
Commenting on the firm’s new purpose, Steve Varley, chairman and UK & Ireland managing partner at EY, said: “We will go beyond our commitment to delivering a high quality service to our clients, to address the most pressing issues in the societies in which we work.
“We will use our expertise to team with other companies that share our purpose and commitment to building a better working world, contributing to the growth and success of our business, our clients’ businesses, our people and the communities in which we work.”
