BDO support staff roles 'under review' as PKF offices merge

Co-located BDO and PKF offices merge, with some support staff roles under review due to duplication
SUPPORT STAFF roles are under review at BDO, as the firm looks to merge offices where it is co-located with its latest acquisition PKF.
Offices will be merged in the major cities in which both firms have a presence: London; Glasgow; Leeds; Manchester; Birmingham; and Bristol.
While no partners or fee earners are affected by the move, support staff may be affected where there are duplicate roles.
“There may be very limited reductions in the number of locally-based operational and administrative roles and central support departments, where the merged firm has resulted in duplication,” said a BDO spokeswoman. “We cannot give an exact number of those who will be affected, as this is currently under review.”
Certain PKF offices seem more secure. The Edinburgh, Liverpool, Sheffield, the Midlands and East Anglia PKF offices saw little BDO presence.
