Former Deloitte chairman to leave Lloyds non-executive role, as he prepares for RSA post
FORMER UK DELOITTE chairman Martin Scicluna is to leave his Lloyds Banking Group’s non-executive role from March 2013.
Scicluna, who spent 12 years as Deloitte chairman between 1995 and 2007, is due to take the RSA chairman role from January. He has served with Lloyds as chairman of its audit committee.
Sir Win Bischoff, Lloyds chairman, said: “Martin has made a significant contribution during his time with Lloyds. His wise and constructive counsel as a director and particularly as chairman of our audit committee will be missed by the management and board alike. I would like to thank him for his commitment and sound judgment and on behalf of the board wish him continued success in the future.”
Scicluna was cleared of wrongdoing by a tribunal from former accountancy watchdog the Joint Disciplinary Scheme in 2006, after allegations were made that he should have reported Deloitte auditor Stephen Ives to the ICAEW for misconduct in relation to the audit of Capital Corporation – a charge that was vigorously disputed by him and his firm.
