MATTHEW GREGORY has been appointed group finance director of FTSE 250-listed plastics and foam fibre manufacturer Filtrona, after predecessor Steve Crummett left to pursue other opportunities.
Gregory (pictured) originally joined Filtrona in 2003 as FD of the Moss Plastic Parts business, before taking a role as finance and business development director of the protection and finishing products division. He was later made corporate development director in 2010.
He assumes his new role with immediate effect, while Steve Crummett will stay with the company until December.
Prior to joining Filtrona, Gregory held finance roles at Rank Group between 1995 and 2002. He qualified as a chartered accountant at Ernst & Young, where he worked for six years between 1989 and 1995.
Colin Day, chief executive of Filtrona, said: “Matthew has an outstanding track record of performance over a number of years, combining strong financial and strategic experience with proven commercial and leadership skills.”
