KPMG blames payday blunder on human error

Nearly 11,000 KPMG staff will not receive their pay today as is the norm, due to human error at the firm

KPMG has blamed “human error” on its failure to pay staff on payday, it has confirmed.

As revealed by Accountancy Age earlier, the Big Four firm’s 11,000-strong workforce were due to be paid today, however, due to a glitch in its systems process, staff will now be paid on Monday.

A spokesman for the firm has confirmed the payment failure “was not an IT fault but human error”.

Usually KPMG staff are paid on the last Friday of every month. They will now have to wait until after the weekend.

The KPMG spokesman said that any employee facing difficulty because of the error should contact the firm’s finance department.
