RSM Tenon’s chairman of corporate finance, national head of audit tax and advisory, Mark Lucas steps down

RSM TENON’S director and national head of audit, tax and advisory, as well as chairman of its corporate finance board, has left the listed firm.

Accountancy Age understands Mark Lucas, has been asked to step down from the firm following a restructuring of management, just weeks after it reissued its financial statement and chief executive Andy Raynor resigned.

Lucas started out in the Basingstoke office of BKL Weeks Green, acquired by Tenon in 2000, leaving in 1989 to join PwC. In 1992 he returned to BKL to lead its audit division and became partner in 1994. Following the acquisition by Tenon he has held regional leadership roles and chaired Tenon’s Audit board, before taking over as national head of audit tax and advisory and chairing corporate finance baord.

Earlier this year RSM Tenon announced that its revenues had fallen 9.3% to £107.8m for the half year ending 31 December 2011. It also posted an £11m loss compared to the £8.5m profit for the same period a year earlier.

There are no details on Lucas’ next move although the RSM Tenon confirmed he is currently on gardening leave.

A spokeswoman at the firm said: “There have been several management changes as part of our strategy to take the business forward.”
