Troubled company appoints Big Four firm to replace BDO
DELOITTE HAS BEEN appointed auditor at troubled Healthcare Locums, the company has announced.
The medical recruitment company confirmed the appointment of the Big Four firm to take over from BDO . Last year, Healthcare Locums discovered “serious accounting irregularities” in its accounts.
Following the discovery, BDO has been subject to investigation by the Accountancy and Actuarial Discipline Board. The board will look into how incorrect accounts were used to negotiate a £130m refinancing with two Australian banks in 2010, the report suggests.
BDO resigned as auditor in November, four days before the AADB investigation began.
The company has also appointed SNR Denton as its solicitor and legal adviser and Investec Bank is appointed nominated adviser, financial adviser and broker.
HCL chairman Peter Sullivan said: “These are important new appointments that will aid the company’s progress as it continues along its path of recovery. They reflect the board’s commitment to reconfiguring the business for the benefit of all stakeholders.”
